Find your family size on the left side of this chart.

Follow that row to the right. Is your family's income less than the monthly or yearly income show in the green Medicaid section?* If so, your children might get Medicaid.

If your income is higher, follow the row to the blue CHIP section. Your children might get CHIP if your income is less than the monthly or yearly income shown in the blue section. Children of families that earn higher incomes may also qualify in some cases.

Medicaid: Free
CHIP: Sign-up fee of up to $50 per year per family. Copays are charged at the time of service and are priced based on the type of service and family's income.

Note: The Texas Health and Human Services Commission will determine whether you or your children qualify for benefits once you submit an application.
