Voting is your most important right as a citizen of the United States. In order to vote you must:

Be a citizen of the United States.
Be a resident of the state in which you're planning to register.
Be at least 18-years-old at the time of the next election.

Registering to vote is easy. You can do it online or by mail. You must register to vote 30 days before an election.

You can get a voter registration application at your local library. You can also register to vote online at one of the sites below:

Registering to vote is just the first step. Once you get your voter card in the mail, you need to find a location to cast your vote. You will need to bring your voter card to the precinct where you will vote. There will be volunteers to help you if you have any questions.

Voting occurs between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
