Reminder about the Importance of Adulthood Yearly Wellness Visits

Attention: Obstetric Care Providers and Primary Care Providers
Call to action: The purpose of this communication is to serve as a reminder about the importance of yearly wellness visits for young adults. Recommended topics for discussion during the visit include the following:
- Medical/physical examinations, vaccinations, and testing.
- Sexual health, screenings and prevention.
- Transitioning into adult care.
- Managing mental health issues.
- Healthy lifestyle behaviors.
Resources: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) has resources to assist with the conversation parents have with their teen on sexual health, even prior to them becoming sexually active.
