Texas Children’s® Link Update: Temporary Claim Submission Workaround

Temporary Claim Submission Workaround
Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) is aware that some providers may experience a formatting error when entering the Federal Tax ID on the Claim Entry form in the Texas Children’s® Link provider portal. When a Federal Tax ID is entered, the portal may automatically reformat the number and display an invalid-format error that prevents claim submission.
While this issue is being addressed, providers experiencing this error may use the following temporary workaround to submit claims through the portal:
If you receive the Federal Tax ID formatting error, remove the entry from the Federal Tax ID field and leave the field blank.
The Federal Tax ID field is currently optional on the Claim Entry form, and the formatting validation occurs when a value is entered.
Complete the remaining required claim information and submit the claim as usual.
Our technical team is actively working with Epic to resolve the issue. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
Next step for providers: Providers should share this information with their staff.
