Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in Texas Medicaid computer-based training

Date: January 11, 2023

Attention: All Providers

Date training is available: January 4, 2023

Providers should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated to the COVID-19 event.  TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.

Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to make providers aware of a training opportunity.

Texas Medicaid implemented a medical benefit for the CoCM on June 1, 2022, as directed by Senate Bill 672, 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021. Prior to the implementation of the benefit, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) conducted two trainings on CoCM services for MCOs in May of 2022.

To ensure adherence to the core principles and the specific functional requirements of the model, HHSC has developed an online training for providers of CoCM services that will be accessible via the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) website .

How this impacts providers: The Integrating Behavioral Health Services into Primary Care: Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) in Texas Medicaid computer-based training (CBT) will be available to providers of CoCM services on January 4, 2023, via the TMHP Learning Management System (LMS) website . The CBT includes six modules that may be completed by providers in any order.

Next steps for providers: Users must have a username and password to access CBTs in the LMS. To get a username and password, providers must create an account by clicking the Don’t have an account? Sign up here link on the LMS home page. For more information, call the TMHP Contact Center at 800-925-9126. For LMS access issues, email TMHP LMS support at TMHPTrainingSupport@tmhp.com.
