Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform providers of a new vaccine available for Medicaid Members. How this impacts providers: Vaxelis, a three-dose vaccine series for children ages six weeks through four years, was made available and will be distributed free of charge through the Texas Vaccines for Children Program (TVFC) beginning on May 3, 2021. This vaccine contains six components to prevent disease from diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, poliomyelitis, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b. Beginning July 1, 2021, vaccine procedure code 90697 (Vaxelis) will become available for Medicaid Members.
