Transportation Update Actualización de transporte

Starting December 15, 2025, SafeRide Health will become the new provider for all member rides to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits. After this date, Texas Children’s Health Plan will no longer use MTM for Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services.

Infection Control Supplies Procedure Code S8301 No Longer a Benefit

Call to action:

Texas Children Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform providers that effective with the end of the federal public health emergency (PHE) on May 11, 2023, the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) will end multiple temporary flexibilities related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Providers should be aware that this change impacts coverage and reimbursement for procedure code S8301for infection control supplies.

Effective for dates of service on or after May 12, 2023, infection control suppliesprocedure code S8301will no longer be a benefit of Texas Medicaid.

How this impacts providers:

Effective for dates of service on or after May 12, 2023, claims for procedure code S8301, infection control supplies, will not be reimbursed to providers.
