Transportation UpdateActualización de transporte
Starting December 15, 2025, SafeRide Health will become the new provider for all member rides to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits. After this date, Texas Children’s Health Plan will no longer use MTM for Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services.

Chikungunya Virus Vaccine Is Now a Benefit of Texas Medicaid

Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform providers that effective for dates of service on or after April 1, 2024, the chikungunya virus vaccine (procedure code 90589) is now a benefit of Texas Medicaid for clients who are 19 years of age or older.
Procedure code 90589 may be reimbursed for the following provider types and places of service:
TCHP will reprocess affected claims submitted with the 90589 procedure code and date of service on or after April 1, 2024. Providers may bill TCHP retroactively for procedure code 90589.
Next step for Providers: Providers are encouraged to share this communication with their staff.
