Welcome to Texas Children's Health Plan

Welcome

Thank you for choosing Texas Children’s Health Plan!

It’s been our mission for 30 years to help Texas families stay healthy. No matter your child’s health needs, we’re here to help with personalized support, high-quality providers, extra benefits, and more. You can count on us!

Consider this video your quick guide on how to get the most out of your child’s benefits. Enjoy!

Four Steps to Get Started:

Understand your child’s Member ID card.

Every child in your family covered by the Health Plan will get a Member ID card in the mail. This card is proof of your child’s health coverage and you need to bring it to each of their doctor’s visits.

If your child’s Member ID card hasn’t yet hit your mailbox, you can either:

  • Contact Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) at 2-1-1, Option 2, or on YourTexasBenefits.com to update your mailing address.
  • Print out a temporary Member ID card from your Texas Children’s® MyChart account. (See Step 4!)

Confirm your child’s Primary Care Provider (PCP).

Take a moment and make sure your child’s PCP is listed correctly. When you signed up your child for their benefits, you may have picked their PCP. (If you did not, we picked one for you.) If you want to update or change your child’s PCP, please call Member Services at the phone number found on the back of your child’s Member ID card.
