PeriPAN: No-Cost Psychiatric Consultation Support for Pregnant and Postpartum Patients
Date: September 21, 2026
Attention: All Providers
Texas Children's Health Plan would like to remind providers about the Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN), a statewide, no-cost resource that supports clinicians caring for pregnant and postpartum patients with behavioral health needs.
PeriPAN provides real-time access to a multidisciplinary network of mental health experts, including reproductive psychiatrists, who can offer clinical consultation, treatment guidance, behavioral health resources, and personalized referral support. The program is available at no cost to providers or patients.
Getting started is simple: Call or text 888-901-2726 to enroll in approximately five minutes and access expert support for your patients. PeriPAN also offers a secure PCP Portal, available 24/7, that allows providers to submit consultation requests, access recommended assessments and resources, share documents, and track consultation-related information in one centralized location.
Behavioral health challenges can significantly impact maternal and infant health outcomes. PeriPAN helps providers access expert support without having to manage these cases alone.
Why Use PeriPAN?
Maternal mental health conditions affect approximately 1 in 5 perinatal women and are among the leading causes of pregnancy-related complications. PeriPAN can help providers:
- Obtain real-time psychiatric consultation and clinical guidance
- Support screening, assessment, and treatment decisions, including access to recommended screening tools and resources
- Connect patients with behavioral health resources and referral options
- Access expert support when managing complex maternal mental health concerns
- Improve access to care in areas with limited behavioral health resources
Additional benefits include:
- No cost to clinicians or families
- Behavioral health CME opportunities
- Potential reimbursement for consultation time, when applicable
- Designed to fit within existing clinical workflows, with access to a secure PCP Portal for consultation requests, document sharing, assessments, and consultation tracking
