Transportation Update Actualización de transporte

Starting December 15, 2025, SafeRide Health will become the new provider for all member rides to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits. After this date, Texas Children’s Health Plan will no longer use MTM for Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services.

Speech generating software authorization reminder

Attention: Speech Therapists Effective Date: June 23, 2020 Providers should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated to the COVID-19 event.  TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform you that we align with Texas Medicaid Provider Procedure Manual (TMPPM) regarding the guidelines for Code E2511, Speech generating software program, for personal computer or personal digital assistant.  TCHP performs authorization of all Augmentative Communication Device systems and all related accessories and supplies. References: TMPPM Augmentative Communication Device (ACD) SystemTCHP’s  Augmentative Communication Device Guideline How this impacts providers: Per TMPPM, Code E2511 does require a prior authorization. A Speech generating software program is considered when software is more cost effective than Augmentative Communication Devices systems. Next steps for providers: Providers should remind their staff of the authorization requirements for speech generating software.
