Texas Children's Health Plan announces Partnership with ProgenyHealth
Date: March 8, 2023
Attention: All Providers
Effective date: June 12, 2023
Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) is happy to announce a partnership with ProgenyHealth, a company which specializes in Neonatal Care Management Services to support our Maternal Health Program. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with our providers for optimal neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) care and enhanced service to our members after NICU discharge through the first year of life. This partnership with ProgenyHealth will support our shared mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of TCHP members by ensuring healthy outcomes that improve health and well-being.
Under the agreement that begins June 12, 2023, ProgenyHealth’s Neonatologists, Pediatricians and Neonatal Nurse Care Managers will work closely with TCHP members, hospital attending physicians, nurses, and PCPs to promote healthy outcomes for TCHP’s premature and medically complex newborns.
The benefits of this partnership are:
The support of a team who understands the complexity and stress of managing infants in the NICU who will work with you to achieve the best possible outcomes
A collaborative and proactive approach with the hospital care team that supports a timely and safe discharge to home
A dedicated ProgenyHealth case manager will support members through their first year of life to provide care management and education to the family, including 24/7 on-call availability and care coordination with PCPs
Inpatient NICU utilization review on behalf of TCHP at network hospitals and assistance with the discharge planning process to ensure members’ smooth transition to the home setting
Process change: The process for notifying TCHP of infants admitted to a NICU or special care nursery will change on June 12, 2023. Facilities should notify ProgenyHealth directly of admissions via fax at 1-866-303-8504, as the preferred method. Facilities may also email notifications to TexasChildrensUM@progenyhealth.com. ProgenyHealth will contact your designated staff to perform utilization management and discharge planning throughout the inpatient stay.
If you wish to learn more about ProgenyHealth’s programs and services, call 1-888-832-2006 or visit progenyhealth.com.
