Provider Enrollment Management System (PEMS) Go-live May 30: Ensure Your Information Is Current

Date: May 28, 2025

Attention: All Providers

Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to remind providers to update their provider profile in the Provider Enrollment Management System (PEMS) by Friday, May 30, 2025. Don’t wait – ensure your information is current to avoid any disruption to claims processing.

As per guidance from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP), TCHP will require all providers to ensure their information is aligned across the Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS) effective May 30, 2025.

  • PEMS is the official source of truth for all provider information.
  • TCHP will contract, credential and pay only those providers who are properly enrolled with TMHP and whose information is received in the official PEMS file from TMHP.
  • It is essential for every provider to be enrolled at each location where they see patients. This will help ensure an accurate online directory with correct search results.

As a reminder, the credentialing functionality will be deployed in PEMS on August 31, 2025 in the following stages:
Stage 1: Providers completing initial credentialing with DMOs start using PEMS for credentialing.
Stage 2: Providers completing initial credentialing with MCOs start using PEMS for credentialing.
Stage 3: Providers completing recredentialing with MCOs and DMOs start using PEMS for recredentialing.

Next step for providers: We encourage providers to view a presentation on PEMS and stay informed about these changes for ensuring smooth participation. For more information on PEMS, view our Provider Enrollment Requirements page.
