Attention: All Providers
Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to remind providers to ensure their enrollment and disclosure information is accurate, complete and consistent in Medicare and the Texas Medicaid Provider Enrollment and Management System (PEMS).
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is revising its provider enrollment review process to reinforce requirements for accurate and consistent ownership, creditor, principal, subcontractor, and related provider information.
What Providers Need to Know
Providers should review their enrollment information and correct any discrepancies before submitting an enrollment or revalidation application. Incomplete or conflicting information may result in deficiencies and delay application processing.
For providers enrolled in both Medicare and Texas Medicaid, Owner/Creditor/Principal information should be consistent across both programs.
Help Prevent Processing Delays
Before submitting an enrollment or revalidation application, providers should:
- Review Medicare and Texas Medicaid enrollment records for consistency.
- Correct any discrepancies.
- Confirm all required enrollment and disclosure information is complete and accurate.
Important: Providers who submit data element changes through the PEMS Maintenance function must allow up to 30 business days from the date TMHP receives the form before completing their revalidation application in PEMS.
Providers must also obtain approval for updates to their Medicare enrollment before submitting corresponding updates or a new enrollment request to Texas Medicaid.
