CPAN: No-Cost Behavioral Health Consultation Support for Children and Adolescents
Date: September 21, 2026
Attention: All Providers
Texas Children's Health Plan would like to remind providers about the Child Psychiatry Access Network (CPAN), a statewide, no-cost resource that supports clinicians caring for children and adolescents with behavioral health needs.
CPAN provides real-time access to a multidisciplinary network of behavioral health experts, including child psychiatrists, who can offer peer-to-peer consultation, treatment guidance, behavioral health resources, personalized referral support, and educational opportunities.
Getting started is simple: Call or text 888-901-2726 to enroll in approximately five minutes and access expert support for your patients. CPAN also offers a secure PCP Portal, available 24/7, that allows providers to submit consultation requests, access assessments and resources, share documents, and track consultation-related information in one centralized location.
Behavioral health concerns can significantly impact a child's development, school performance, family relationships, and overall well-being. CPAN helps clinicians improve access to behavioral health support while continuing to care for patients within their existing practice.
Why Use CPAN?
Behavioral health conditions are common among children and adolescents, yet access to specialized mental health care can be challenging. CPAN can help providers:

- Support screening, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and medication decisions
- Connect patients and families with personalized behavioral health referrals and resources
- Access expert support for complex pediatric behavioral health concerns
- Participate in free behavioral health CME and educational opportunities
Additional benefits include:
- No cost to clinicians or families
- Referral recommendations tailored to patient location, insurance, and provider availability
- Potential reimbursement for consultation time, when applicable
- Designed to fit within existing clinical workflows, including access to a secure PCP Portal for consultation requests, document sharing, and consultation tracking
