New Resource: Texas Medicaid Pharmacy Prior Authorization Tip Sheet

Texas Children's Health Plan has developed a new Texas Medicaid Pharmacy Prior Authorization (PA) Tip Sheet to help providers understand common PA requirements and submit complete supporting documentation.

The tip sheet explains:

  • PDL Prior Authorization (Step Therapy) vs. Clinical Prior Authorization
  • True trial and failure requirements
  • Documentation needed to support PA requests
  • Tips to help reduce authorization delays

Next step for providers: Providers are encouraged to share this new resource with their staff.
