TCHP Billing Reminders for LTSS Services

Date: April 16, 2025

Attention: LTSS Providers

Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to remind all providers rendering Long Term Services and Support (LTSS) – with the exception of atypical providers – to use the CMS-1500 Claim Form or the HIPAA 837P (Professional) transaction when submitting bills.

Atypical providers are LTSS providers who render non-health or non-medical services. Additionally, please be aware that some Private Duty Nursing (PDN) services may be classified as acute rather than LTSS.

For all provider services, please ensure that each date of service for each procedure rendered must be billed on a separate claim line. Multiple dates of services may not be combined on a single claim line on professional or outpatient claims.

Next step for providers: Providers are encouraged to share this communication with their staff.

If you have any questions, please email Provider Relations at: providerrelations@texaschildrens.org
