Zelis: TCHP's New Payment Provider

Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) will transition to a new payment vendor, Zelis, beginning October 2026. This change will apply to all providers and includes electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments, virtual credit cards (VCC) and paper checks.

What this means for providers:

  • Providers can continue receiving payments in their current preferred format (EFT or paper checks).
  • The transition is designed to enhance efficiency without disrupting existing workflows.

To learn more about the Zelis Payment Platform, including training materials and preparation resources, please visit this dedicated resource page. We encourage all providers to review available materials and prepare for a smooth transition.

Consider Switching to Electronic Payments

Since you will already need to take action for the upcoming payment vendor transition, now is a great time to consider switching from paper checks to electronic payments.

Why move away from paper checks?
Paper checks can present several challenges, including:

  • Increased risk of fraud
  • Payment delays
  • Processing inconvenience
  • Difficulty with tracking
  • Added administrative costs

Electronic payment options
TCHP offers an electronic payment solution designed to be faster, more secure, and easier to manage.

No-cost EFT option:
To receive no-cost electronic funds transfer (EFT) payments from TCHP, you must enroll through the TCHP ePayment Center.

How to enroll:

  1. Visit: texaschildrenshealthplan.epayment.center
  2. Register and follow the instructions to obtain your registration code
  3. After submitting your request, you will receive an email within 24–48 hours from help@epayment.center with next steps to complete enrollment

Explore Additional Electronic Payment Options from Zelis

Another option to consider is ZAPP Edge (formerly Zelis ACH+), a fee-based solution that offers enhanced payment features and efficiency. Zelis also provides additional electronic payment options for providers to explore beyond ZAPP Edge.

Good news, if you’re already enrolled with Zelis ZAPP Edge or VCC (virtual card) payment solutions, no action is needed at this time. Following our move to Zelis, payments from Texas Children's Health Plan will be sent according to your current Zelis enrollment, fee schedule and other terms and conditions.

Benefits of ZAPP Edge include:

  • New payers, no problem: Automatically receive payments and remittance data from new Zelis payers—no re-enrollment required
  • Get paid faster: Optimize cash flow with payments delivered directly to your account
  • Eliminate manual entry: Reduce administrative burden by removing the need for manual card processing
  • Same reliable portal: Access all payment and remittance details through a secure, centralized Provider Portal
