EVV Required Free Text Reviews Postponed for CDS Option
Date: March 21, 2022 Attention: Financial Management Services Agencies and Consumer Directed Services employersProviders should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated to the COVID-19 event. TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.
Regarding system configuration updates, TCHP will apply updates and reprocess impacted claims as soon as possible. However, due to volume, please allow up to sixty (60) business days to complete. Providers are not required to appeal the claims unless they are denied for other reasons after the claims reprocessing is complete. Providers should direct questions to their assigned Provider Relations Liaison or send an email inquiry to the Provider Relations Department at providerrelations@texaschildrens.org.
Call to action: The Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is postponing the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Required Free Text Reviews for the Consumer Directed Services option starting with dates of service January 1, 2022, until further notice.
How this impacts providers: HHSC will publish a notice 90 days before the effective date when EVV Required Free Text Reviews will begin.
Next steps for providers: Financial Management Services Agencies and CDS employers:
Must continue using EVV, including entering required free text.
Should review the EVV Reason Code and Required Free Text Reports found in the EVV Portal as a tool to monitor compliance.
For instructions on how to access and review reports in the EVV Portal, review TMHP’s EVV Job Aids found on their EVV Training webpage.
