Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Visit Maintenance Unlock Request (VMUR) Updates

Date: April 25, 2022 Attention: STAR Kids Providers/Personal Care Services & FMSA Providers Effective date: May 2, 2022 Providers should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated with the COVID-19 event.  TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event. Call to action: Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) would like to inform providers that Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has updated the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Visit Maintenance Unlock Request (VMUR) templates. HHSC is also creating job aids for each VMUR template. The job aids will include information on the VMUR process, including examples of the most common VMURs. How this impacts providers: HHSC is adding a new option to the Incorrect Data Element drop-down list. ‘N/A - Export Only’ was added to address situations where visit maintenance needs to be unlocked so that verified and validated visits can be exported to the EVV Aggregator. HHSC will be replacing the current VMUR templates with the new versions on May 2, 2022. These updated versions include:
  • Updates to the Instructions tab to reflect the ‘N/A - Export Only’ option.
  • Updates to the templates to include the ‘N/A - Export Only’ option.
  • Minor formatting updates, such as additional rows and fixing cells that did not allow data to fully read (e.g., EVV Visit IDs would not fully show).
  • Jobs aids added to each VMUR template (available on the EVV webpage).
Next steps for providers: Providers should share this communication with their staff. Please see the new versions below: If you have any questions, please email Provider Network Management at: providerrelations@texaschildrens.org.For access to all provider alerts, log into: www.thecheckup.org or www.texaschildrenshealthplan.org/for-providers.
