Transportation UpdateActualización de transporte
Starting December 15, 2025, SafeRide Health will become the new provider for all member rides to doctor appointments and pharmacy visits. After this date, Texas Children’s Health Plan will no longer use MTM for Non Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) services.

Healthy Rewards/Value Added Services for 2020-2021

Providers should monitor the Texas Children’s Health Plan (TCHP) Provider Portal regularly for alerts and updates associated to the COVID-19 event. TCHP reserves the right to update and/or change this information without prior notice due to the evolving nature of the COVID-19 event.Call to action: Texas Children’s health Plan (TCHP) is proud to present our Extra benefits/Value Added Services (VAS) program effective, September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2021. These rewards and services are available in each line of business CHIP, STAR, and STAR Kids and Service Delivery Areas; Harris, Jefferson and North East (limitations may apply). The extra benefits are available for the following categories:
· GED Training Reward Card
· Newborn Care Class
· Childbirth Educational Class
· Portable Crib / Playpen
· Car Seat Safety Class
· Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond Class
· Meals for Moms
· Infant CPR Educational Training
GED Training Reward Card- Members who obtain a GED certificate from a qualified organization can receive a reward card for up to $145 (or $36.25 per subject), depending on the number of subjects needed to complete the test.
Good Grades Reward Card- Members in 6th – 12th grade with all A’s and B’s can get a $25 reward card per semester (maximum of 2 rewards per regular school year).
School Attendance Reward Card- Members between the ages of 5 – 13 with perfect attendance, as defined by their school district, can get a $25 reward card per semester (maximum of 2 rewards per regular school year).
How this impacts providers: Providers should encourage members to take advantage of the Extra benefits/VAS that will help them.
Next steps for providers: Providers should share this information with their staff and their TCHP plan members.
